What a day!

Too tired when we got home last night to do blog! So here it tis...

That has to be one of the 'super' highlights - NASCAR!

Fantastic day. I thought the V8's attracted large crowds and was well organized but oh no, not a patch on this. The organization was amazing. Right from traffic control to get to the event to parking to even supplying trams to transport you to the track. Everything was thought of.

So pleased we went early as there was much to see and do. Give always galore!

Only thing was - no one told me it was 200 laps. But it all happens so quick that you wished it was more!

They sung the Canadian national anthem then the American one. I thought it was emotional at baseball, wrong, huge yesterday! Fireworks went off and right at end of anthem 3 jets soared past! Goose bumps I'm telling ya. Kid Rock had the job of starting the race!

Sat beside 2 awesome locals Lynn and Todd. Hard cases and full on motor sport addicts. She introduced me to margarita's in a can, yum! Exchanged emails and will be keeping in touch.

About 6 crashes and good racing. Ambrose did ok , finished 5th.

Organization just as good at end of day after we sat for a hour or so talking to Todd and Lynn. Only issue was Simon was in the wrong queue when we left so turned around then got spoken to by a cop as going wrong way in the lane. Was a little serious momentarily. But once he escorted us into the right one we were off agin.

It was at capacity few empty areas but we were told track accommodates about 130,000.

Home and walked to a nice restaurant/bar for dinner. Great finish to a awesome day, that will be hard to top!
