America's greatest history attraction & Tigers!

Sitting at the Comerica Park in Detroit watching the Detroit Tigers play Baltimore Orioles in a game of baseball. The crowd is huge. It feels like the population of Invecargill is in the stadium! Got to experience the national anthem in a crowd. Moving - even if not American.

The day has been very full today. We headed to The Henry Ford attraction. So much to do so little time.

First up we visited the assembly line where they were working on F150's. Very very cool. They make 1200 a day Mon-Fri and 600 a day Sat & Sun. These are all pre sold! A big highlight for us.

After that we headed to Greenfield Village which is stepping back in time and covers about 80 acres. History to the max. Had lunch at the Tavern old fashioned style. Yum roast beef & vege!

Third attraction was the museum. A lot of different things in there from cars to trains to planes to a house even!

Left there at 5pm only cause it was closing time. Baseball started at 7 so thought we would head straight to the park. Thankfully we did! Traffic galore!

Little did we know that straight across the road from the park is Ford Field and there was a country music concert going on. People everywhere. I honestly could have just got a seat and people watched. Very entertaining.

A great day/night finished off with a huge fireworks display. Our Detroit Tigers lost (3-2) but was a great experience of American culture!

I will say it again - the Americans know how to do it and put their heart and soul into it.

Sunday going to be another big one. It's all going on in Detroit for us!

Definitely be coming home for a holiday!

(stretched car pic was something we saw after baseball - HUGE)
