Route 66, Teepees, Mater and Headache

Tuesday night found our steak meal. What a find that was. Looked like a cafe out front but then the Greek owner takes you out the back to a real old cool retro restaurant. There was a couple from England that returned after 4 years as the steak was that good! I would agree with them. Service superb too. Complimentary after dinner drinks and walked to the door and handshake by the owner.

Left in the morning Blythe bound. Got there and thought lets carry on. We walked through a Ford dealership first and met a nice guy. As we were leaving he came running out with a California number plate for us!

Searched places to stay and found Wigman Motel in Rialto and the rest they say is history!

What a fantastic find. Our host Kumar was exceptional. We got settled and hit the pool. The cigar smoking Kumar joined us and we had lots of laughs.

Couple of his mates arrived and the party increased! Then 3 very passionate Route 66'ers arrived. Well what characters.

Brenda, Lulu and Dean, you guys were fun and great to meet! Dean (on the previous blogs photo) was the inspiration for backward driving Mater from the Cars movie. What a hoot.

Mama arrived (Kumar's mum) and then the pizzas arrived just after that! What a motel - I would recommend this place to anyone traveling this area! They go out of their way to make you welcome! Thanks again for the t-shirts and Simon will send your nomination through!
